The reggae/dancehall trio Serengeti (Sweden) are quickly establishing themselves as a versatile and dynamic live act performing with Dj, backing band or acoustic set. Serengeti have also been hyped for their shows as a traditional sound system - one dj and two mc´s. It is now official that Serengeti can be booked as a live act (dj, backing band, acoustic set) and/or as a sound.
Serengeti have been touring throughout Europe following the massive attention that came with the release of Walk with an empress (SoundQuake). They later released their debut album Standing Steady (April, 2010) and the tune Soundboy, Serengeti´s version of Rihannas Rudeboy. Tour dates have included Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, Sweden and shows at festivals such as Rototom Sunsplash, Uppsala Reggae Festival, Ruhr Reggae Summer, Splash! and more. A winter tour in South Africa has just been completed where Serengeti performed in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, and featured as opening act for Public Enemy.
