Bio:
Jathniel "Maddness" Solomon is a Vocalist, keyboardist, songwriter, producer, and arranger. He Began performing at the age of seven with his church choir. When later joiningthe Harlem Boy's Choir Of New York City, Maddness knew he wanted to be on the stage.

In 2008 he worked out his first single Passion For Soca the song expresses his love for Soca Music.

The song will definitely pull on the heartstrings of many soca lovers. Maddness wrote the song and was blessed to work with Dalton Dyer of the Tonik Band for production. Maddness has plans to take Soca Music to the next level.
When asked how he would describe his music he replies "Music burns deep in my soul if I were to try and describe it would be an understatement". At Nineteen this young man is poised for success with God by his side and a mic is hands Maddness is ready for what the world has to offer.

The big fete for Trini Carnival is the Soca Monarch Competition. This is an international competition but have always been dominated by Trini Artist. Now they have made some changes and hopefully that will mean other islands have a change for the price to. This a thing that has been on my mind a long time know, and finally somebody make a Campaign for this. Myspace is lacking a Soca Music category. The artist have to use things like tropical, world or other... We should also have a category so join the campaign. Big up to Toronto-Lime, Nurse Karen and Dr Jay!

New Campaign Urges MySpace.com to Create a Soca Music Category

Toronto, Canada - A new advocacy campaign was launched yesterday to officially list soca as a musical genre on the internet entertainment portal, Myspace.com. The initiative entitled Bring Soca to MySpace is lobbying to make it easy for fans to browse soca music online and interact with their favourite personalities.

Bring Soca to MySpace has four main aims:

• The creation of a Soca category in MySpace Music
• The featuring of Soca artist profiles on the site splash page
• The inclusion of editorial relating to Anglo-Caribbean music
• The creation of a MySpace Caribbean regional English-language sub-site.

At present, MySpace considers the Caribbean to fit under the umbrella of Latin America. Therefore Caribbean users often login to into a Spanish-language interface featuring the latest in Reggaeton and Latin Pop. Organizers believe that the end result of the above recommendations will create a win-win situation for the soca music industry, fans and MySpace alike.

"Every other style of Western music is up there," says campaign organizer and Caribbean entertainment writer Nurse Karen , "We are simply asking MySpace to give soca artists the respect they deserve. Artists already use site, but they have to describe their sounds as Reggae, Tropical, Fusion or Zouk. There is no category that represents them. As a result, Soca artists never have the chance rise to the top of MySpace music charts. Soca is way bigger than that, so the time is now for a change."

The non-partisan campaign, officially endorsed by (Nurse) Karen (Etc) and Soca Therapy, Canada's #1 Soca radio program, asks for the grassroots support of all Caribbean media outlets, entertainment professionals and music fans.

Supporters may assist in the following ways:

• Post or circulate this media release and campaign poster
• Join Bring Soca to MySpace in Myspace Groups
• Email MySpace in support
• Encourage contacts to join the Bring Soca to MySpace group
• Add your logo to future versions of the poster

Vi tyckte att det saknades ett ställe där man kan lyssna på soca, dancehall, zouk, african beats etc med en hemmafest känsla. Vi drömde om ett stor "House Party" med 200 personer och live uppträdanden. Därför har vi skapat "Boogie Nights". Under kvällen kommer bla latino/reggeaton artisten Jennéy uppträda, en ny och mycket lovande stjärna inom génren. Vi kommer ha en bar med öl, vin och drinkar till lägre priser än i stan. Under kvällen kommer vi mest att spela uptempo beats, bring yuh rags n whistle n get ready to wine! Bla kommer vi spela en del nya osläppta soca låtar inför karnevalen i Trinidad 2009.

Boogie Nights kommer att hållas i Brommasalen, en stor festlokal med scen och högt i tak vid Alviks Torg. Hit tar du dig enklast med tunnelbanan och går av vid Alvik eller tvärbanan från Gullmarsplan till Alvik. Beräknad restid från T Centralen med tunnelbanan: 13 minuter.
